A new route for the New Year! 8a start. Meander through the city to Perdido Bay on this new 47miler. Cruise past Osceola Golf Course and the Country Club. Rest stop at the Tom Thumb on Blue Angel and Lillian Hwy. (4 bayous, 3 bays & 2 golf courses). No Drop Ride.

WFW in the Country - Blackwater River State Forest
The 'Wheelmen in the Country' meet at the Blackwater Heritage Trail head next to Truly Spokin' in Milton each Saturday morning.
The ride has been a staple of the area for 18+ years and counting with anywhere from 20 to 50 riders on any given Saturday. There are 7 convenience stores located 15 to 28 miles from the Trail head start/finish. One of these stores is the usual Saturday destination. The distance of the ride will vary from 42 to 55+ miles and is typically posted by Thursday afternoon on the Blackwater Cycling Facebook page. The pace varies as well. You can typically expect 2 to 3 groups of riders with a Blackwater pace scale as follows:
A group - riding speeds of 22 to 30 mph with a finishing moving average of 22+
B group - They're getting frisky. Typical riding speeds are 18 to 24 mph with a finished moving average of 18.5 to 20.5 mph
C group and lower - riding speeds depends the company, anticipate riding speeds of 15 to 20 mph depending upon the wind and ongoing conversations. Finished moving average 16-17 mph.THE DESTINATION MAY CHANGE WITH THE 'C' GROUP!! The core group of riders has been in Blackwater for years and will sometimes opt for a different route than the faster groups.

Another new route for the New Year! 9a start. We'll do a modified version of the good Thursday nite Trek ride...plus make our way over to Baublits Dr that hugs Bayou Chico. At 37 miles, it's also on the shorter side. Add some extra miles at the end by going on to Scenic and doing the full Bayou Texar loop. Rest stop at Navy Groceries at Sunset & Navy Blvd. No Drop Ride.

8a start. Excellent loop to the quiet environs of "Beulah land...sweet Beulah land". Also includes the awesome run into Hurst Hammock! Moderate pace. 62 miles - 2 rest stops (Beulah Rd & 90 / Blue Angel & Dog Track Rd). No Drop Ride. You can shave off 5 or 6 miles by turning off Blue Angel onto Lillian and coming back on Jackson St.
Start/Finish - Intersection of Summit Blvd. and Jerry Maygarden. The empty lot of the old fire station is across the street (2750 Summit Blvd.). Plenty of parking.

Start at 8am from Bagelheads. A great ride to the quiet country roads of Lillian, Ala. A Group 45 miles Moderate to fast pace. [Ride with GPS map]
B Group - The B's follow the same route but instead of turning right on 98 from Lillian Hwy. as the A's will do, the B's will continue straight onto Dog Track Rd. (30 total miles).
